i watched a bbc documentary about Leonardo Da Vinci again last week.
The story was still intriguing even though it was the second time i viewed it.
Leonardo Da Vinci, the most prestigious painter during the Renaissance, is renowned in the majority for his exquisite masterpiece known as "Mona Lisa".
In this video, however, the narrator reveals the other side of Leonardo, not as an artist, but the most versatile person in the world.
During his 67 year-old life, Leonardo was engaged in various fields covering painting, fashion design, architecture, mechanics, surgery and etc.
But most of his contributions are obscure to the the masses because they were never officially published in his age.
Few people know that Leonardo Da Vinci designed glider, parachute, and even the conception of helicopter.
Among his inventions, we can also find some deadly weapon designs which were used to please his patrons, many of whom were the arrogant rulers with intense desire of conquering, such like the prototypes of tank and submarine, although they were never actually put into practice.
Additionally, Leonardo was also the man who first observed the phenomenon of arteriosclerosis, which was fully studied almost over 500 years later.
In my opinion, the most precious heritage he left to the world is not the canvas labelled "Painting No.779" hung in Louvre but his notes which records all his great mind and extraordinary ideas.
